Regulation (EU) 2023/2411 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 October 2023 on the protection of geographical indications for craft and industrial products and amending Regulations (EU) 2017/1001 and (EU) 2019/1753 (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

paragraph 2 is replaced by the following: ‘2. For the purposes of this Regulation, the term “geographical indications” covers appellations of origin within the meaning of the Geneva Act, including designations of origin within the meaning of Regulations (EU) No 1151/2012 and (EU) No 1308/2013, as well as geographical indications within the meaning of Regulations (EU) No 1151/2012, (EU) No 1308/2013, (EU) 2019/787 and (EU) 2023/2411 of the European Parliament and of the Council (*2). In respect of appellations of origin relating to craft and industrial products which are the subject of an international registration, protection in the Union shall be construed as specified in Articles 6 and 40 of Regulation (EU) 2023/2411.
