DIRECTIVE (EU) 2024/1640 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 31 May 2024 on the mechanisms to be put in place by Member States for the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing, amending Directive(EU) 2019/1937, and amending and repealing Directive (EU) 2015/849 (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

The centralised automated mechanisms shall be interconnected via the bank account registers interconnection system (‘BARIS’), to be developed and operated by the Commission. The Commission shall ensure such interconnection in cooperation with Member States by 10 July 2029. The Commission may set out, by means of implementing acts, the technical specifications and procedures for the connection of Member States’ centralised automated mechanisms to BARIS. Those implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 72(2).
