DIRECTIVE (EU) 2024/1640 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 31 May 2024 on the mechanisms to be put in place by Member States for the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing, amending Directive(EU) 2019/1937, and amending and repealing Directive (EU) 2015/849 (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

By 10 July 2028, AMLA shall issue guidelines addressed to supervisors on: (a) the characteristics of a risk-based approach to supervision; (b) the measures to be put in place within supervisors to ensure adequate and effective supervision, including to train their staff; (c) the steps to be taken when conducting supervision on a risk-sensitive basis. Where relevant, the guidelines referred to in the first subparagraph shall take into account the outcomes of the assessments carried out pursuant to Articles 30 and 35 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1620.
