(99) Exchange of information and cooperation between supervisors is essential in the context of increasingly integrated global financial systems. On the one hand, Union supervisors, including AMLA, should inform each other of instances in which the law of a third country does not permit the implementation of the policies and procedures required under Regulation (EU) 2024/1624. On the other hand, it should be possible for Member States to authorise supervisors to conclude cooperation agreements providing for cooperation and exchanges of confidential information with their counterparts in third countries, in compliance with applicable rules for personal data transfers. Given its oversight role, AMLA should provide assistance as might be necessary to assess the equivalence of professional secrecy requirements applicable to the third-country counterpart.
