Declared unit

The declared unit shall be 1 kg of the relevant critical raw material type. The calculation rules for the environmental footprint of specific critical raw materials may specify a higher of lower declared unit, expressed in kg, where necessary to take into account the nature or use of the relevant critical raw material. All quantitative input and output data collated by the manufacturer to quantify the carbon footprint shall be calculated in relation to this declared unit.
