(90) Conformity assessment bodies frequently subcontract parts of their activities linked to the assessment of conformity or have recourse to a subsidiary. To ensure that products placed on the Union market comply with ecodesign requirements, conformity assessment subcontractors and subsidiaries should fulfil the same requirements as notified bodies in relation to the performance of conformity assessment tasks under this Regulation. To ensure that that is the case, relevant notified bodies should establish procedures for the on-going monitoring of the competence, activities and performance of their subcontractors or subsidiaries, such as through a qualification matrix.
