1. Member States shall ensure that branches of credit institutions that have their head office outside the Union and take eligible deposits in a Member State on 11 May 2028, and that are not members of a DGS on that date, join a DGS in operation within their territories by 11 August 2028. Article 1, point (16) shall not apply to those branches until 11 August 2028.
