Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1779 of 17 July 2026 implementing Regulation (EU) No 269/2014 concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine · European Union

(2) In its conclusions of 18 and 19 June 2026, the European Council reaffirmed its continued firm and unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. The European Council stated that the Union will continue to provide, in coordination with like-minded partners and allies, comprehensive political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine and its people. The European Council strongly condemned the recent serious escalation by Russia, including large-scale missile and drone attacks against civilians in Ukraine. The European Council also expressed the Union’s readiness to increase pressure on Russia, including by adopting further sanctions.
