Main origin

Ozone depleting substances were, and still are used in many applications including refrigeration, air conditioning, foam blowing, cleaning of electronics components, manufacture of solvents and as components of fire extinguishers. Main sources for waste containing ODS which in practice cause problems in their classification are foams from disposed refrigerators and construction and demolition wastes (e.g. waste containing PCB).
