COMMISSION NOTICE Guidelines for economic operators and market surveillance authorities on the practical implementation of Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products · European Union

After deciding what products to check, they may need to ask for compliance documentation. The economic operator referred to in Article 4 helps them obtain this information by facilitating their contact and cooperation with the manufacturer. Market surveillance authorities can contact the economic operator referred to in Article 4 directly even if it is located in another Member State (45). They should be specific about the type of documents they need and the products for which they need them.
