(189) By way of examples: Article 7 of the Industrial Emissions Directive obliges operators to inform the competent authorities of incidents and accidents and to take preventive measures; Article 8 of the same directive obliges operators to inform the authorities or non-compliance and to take preventive measures, while also providing for possible suspension of the operational activity.
