5.12.2. Extension of the right of withdrawal period

Article 9(1a) provides that Member States may extend the withdrawal period of 14 days to 30 days for contracts concluded in the context of unsolicited visits by a trader to a consumer’s home or excursions organised by a trader with the aim or effect of promoting or selling products to consumers. Article 6(4), Article 9(2), Article 10(2) and Article 14(4) that refer to the right of withdrawal period were also amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161 to reflect the possible extension of this period to 30 days.
