COMMISSION NOTICE – Guidance on the interpretation and application of Article 6a of Directive 98/6/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on consumer protection in the indication of the prices of products offered to consumers · European Union

Paragraphs 3 to 5 of Article 6a offer Member States the possibility to derogate from the general rule on price reductions in the case of: goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly (‘perishable goods’); goods which have been on the marked for less than 30 days (‘new arrivals’ goods); and successive price reductions within a period of 30 days.
