In section 34 of the Registered Designs Act 1949 (falsification of register, &c.) for “shall be guilty of a misdemeanour” substitute— shall be guilty of an offence and liable— on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or a fine, or both; on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum, or both. The above amendment does not apply in relation to offences committed before the commencement of Part IV.
