Section 111(1)

Subject to subsection (7) below, no person shall import or acquire, release or market any genetically modified organisms— except in pursuance of a consent granted by the Secretary of State and in accordance with any limitations and conditions to which the consent is subject. in such cases or circumstances as may be prescribed in relation to that act, or in any case where he has been given directions under section 108(8)(a) above,
