Schedule 1, paragraph 1

Subject to the following provisions of this paragraph, a member shall hold and vacate office in accordance with the terms of his appointment and shall, on ceasing to be a member, be eligible for re-appointment. A member may at any time by notice to the appropriate Minister resign his office. The appropriate Minister may remove a member if he is satisfied— that that member has been absent from meetings of the Authority for a period of more than three consecutive months without the permission of the Authority; that that member has been adjudged bankrupt, that his estate has been sequestrated or that he has made a composition or arrangement with, or granted a trust deed for, his creditors; or that that member is unable or unfit to carry out the functions of a member.
