Section 73

A political resolution must be passed by a majority of those voting on a ballot of the members of the trade union held in accordance with this Chapter sections 73 to 78. A political resolution so passed shall take effect as if it were a rule of the union and may be rescinded in the same manner and subject to the same provisions as such a rule. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Where a political resolution (“the old resolution”) is in force and a ballot is held on a new political resolution, then— if the new resolution is passed, the old resolution shall be treated as rescinded, and if it is not passed, the old resolution shall cease to have effect at the end of the period of two weeks beginning with the date of the ballot.
