A UK regulator may exercise the powers under paragraph 49(1) (UK regulator's initiative: imposing, varying and cancelling requirements) in relation to the person if it appears to the UK regulator that it is desirable to do so in order to advance— in the case of the FCA, one or more of its operational objectives, or in the case of the PRA, one of its objectives.
