Section 343

In this Chapter references to a judge in relation to an application must be construed in accordance with this section. In relation to an application for the purposes of a confiscation investigation , a money laundering investigation , a detained cash investigation, a detained property investigation , a frozen funds investigation or a cryptoasset investigation a judge is— in England and Wales, a judge entitled to exercise the jurisdiction of the Crown Court; in Northern Ireland, a Crown Court judge. In relation to an application for the purposes of a civil recovery investigation or an exploitation proceeds investigation ... a judge is a judge of the High Court.
