Section 242(1)

A public authority which holds information to which section 237 applies may disclose that information to any person— in connection with the investigation of any criminal offence in any part of the United Kingdom; for the purposes of any criminal proceedings there; for the purpose of any decision whether to start or bring to an end such an investigation or proceedings.
