In section 417 of FSMA 2000 (definitions), in subsection (1)— after the definition of “control of information rules” insert— “core activities” has the meaning given in section 142B; “core services” has the meaning given in section 142C; after the definition of “ESMA” insert— “excluded activities” has the meaning given in section 142D; after the definition of “regulator” insert— “ring-fenced body” has the meaning given in section 142A; “ring-fencing rules” has the meaning given in section 142H;
