Schedule 5, Part 4D, paragraph 10Z9(3)

The Director of Public Prosecutions may authorise a person (generally or specifically) to carry out the functions of the Director under sub-paragraph (1) if the person is— a member of the Director's staff; a person providing services under arrangements made by the Director.
