A person may request a company to tell the person whether all of the information that it is required to deliver to the registrar under this Chapter has been delivered. The company must comply with the request within the period of 14 days beginning with the day on which the request is made. If the company fails, without reasonable excuse, to do so, an offence is committed by— the company, and every officer of the company who is in default. A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale. Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to information if the company is aware that, by virtue of regulations under section 1088, the registrar is required to refrain from making that information available for public inspection.
