Schedule 16, Part 2, paragraph 6

The Electricity Act 1989 is amended as follows. In section 6A (procedure for licence applications)— in subsection (1)(a), for “subsections (1A) and (1B)” substitute “subsection (1B)”; omit subsection (1A); in subsection (1B), after “for” insert “a smart meter communication licence or”. In section 56FC (competitive tenders for licences for new licensable activities), in subsection (1), after “activities” insert “, other than a licence under section 6(1)(f) (smart meter communication licence),”.
