Section 27

This Part contains provision to secure the reliability of digital verification services by means of— a trust framework (see section 28), supplementary codes (see section 29), a register (see section 32), an information gateway (see section 45), and a trust mark (see section 50). In this Part, “digital verification services” means verification services provided to any extent by means of the internet. In subsection (2), “verification services” means services that are provided at the request of an individual and consist in— ascertaining or verifying a fact about the individual from information provided otherwise than by the individual, and confirming to another person that the fact about the individual has been ascertained or verified from information so provided.
