Article 2 is to be read as if— in point (a)— “‘waste’,” were omitted; and for “Directive 2008/98/EC” there were substituted “the Waste Framework Directive”; after point (a) there were inserted— ‘waste’ means anything that— is waste within the meaning of Article 3(1) of the Waste Framework Directive, as read with Articles 5 and 6 of that Directive, and is not excluded from the scope of that Directive by Article 2(1), (2) or (3) of that Directive; for point (c) there were substituted— ‘hazardous waste’ has the meaning given in Article 3(2) of the Waste Framework Directive.
