Schedule 1A, paragraph 3

For the purposes of these Regulations, the Batteries Directive is to be read in accordance with this paragraph. Article 2(2)(a) is to be read as if for “Member States' essential security interests” there were substituted “ the essential security interests of the United Kingdom ”. Article 3 is to be read as if— in point (7), for “Article 1(1)(a) of Directive 2006/12/EC ” there were substituted “ Article 3(1) of the Waste Framework Directive, as read with Articles 5 and 6 of that Directive ”; in point (9), for “Annex IIA to Directive 2006/12/EC” there were substituted “ Annex 1 to the Waste Framework Directive ”.
