Schedule 22, paragraph 12

The appropriate authority may issue guidance to persons causing or liable to cause inputs of pollutants to groundwater with respect to the steps they must take to prevent or limit those pollutants from entering groundwater. The regulator must take into account whether or not such guidance is or is likely to be complied with before taking any enforcement action under these Regulations. Guidance must be publicised as the appropriate authority sees fit.
