Schedule 22, paragraph 2

In this Schedule— “body of groundwater” has the same meaning as in the Water Framework Directive; “direct input” in relation to groundwater means the introduction of a pollutant to groundwater without percolation through soil or subsoil; “indirect input” in relation to groundwater means the introduction of a pollutant to groundwater after percolation through soil or subsoil; “surface waters” has the same meaning as in the Water Framework Directive.
