Schedule 3, Part 1, Chapter 3, paragraph 17(3)

For the purposes of this paragraph, the specific conditions are that— the fluorescent tubes were used or intended to be used by the producer of the waste before becoming waste, the crushing is carried out by the producer of the waste at the place of production, the total quantity of waste crushed does not exceed 2 tonnes per year, the equipment used for crushing is owned by the producer, the mercury exposure limit is not exceeded, best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques are used, the waste is stored in accordance with paragraph 1 of Annex VIII to the WEEE Directive, and the waste is crushed in accordance with paragraph 2 of Annex VIII to the WEEE Directive.
