A United Kingdom person may contravene a relevant prohibition by conduct wholly or partly outside the United Kingdom. Any person may contravene a relevant prohibition by conduct in the territorial sea. In this regulation a “relevant prohibition” means any prohibition imposed— by regulation 9(2) or 9B(2) (confidential information), by Part 3 (Finance), by Part 5 (Trade), under Part 6 (Ships), by regulation 57L(6) (disclosure of confidential information), or by a condition of a Treasury licence , a trade licence, a detained transport asset licence or a ships licence. A United Kingdom person may comply, or fail to comply, with a relevant requirement by conduct wholly or partly outside the United Kingdom. Any person may comply, or fail to comply, with a relevant requirement or a requirement imposed by a direction under regulation 57J(3) (direction by air traffic control to operator or pilot of Russian aircraft), or a requirement imposed by a condition of an aircraft licence, by conduct in the territorial sea. In this regulation a “relevant requirement” means any requirement imposed— by or under Part 8 (Information and records), or by reason of a request made under a power conferred by that Part, by a condition of a Treasury licence , a trade licence, a detained transport asset licence or a ships licence, or by a direction under regulation 57C (movement of ships). Nothing in this regulation is to be taken to prevent a relevant prohibition or a relevant requirement from applying to conduct (by any person) in the United Kingdom.
