Section 46L

The export of banknotes to, or for use in, Russia is prohibited. A person must not directly or indirectly— supply or deliver banknotes to a person connected with Russia; make banknotes available to a person connected with Russia; or make banknotes available for use in Russia. Paragraphs (1) and (2) are subject to Part 7 (Exceptions and licences). A person who contravenes a prohibition in paragraph (2) commits an offence. In this regulation, “banknotes” means— sterling denominated banknotes issued by the Bank of England and banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland; and banknotes denominated in any official currency of the European Union.
