Section 57E(3)

For the purposes of this regulation— any reference to registering a ship is to registering the ship in the register of British ships maintained by the Registrar, “designated persons” means a person who is designated under regulation 5 for the purposes of the relevant regulations under this Part, and a ship is “chartered” by a person if it is chartered on bareboat charter terms within the meaning given by section 17(11) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
