Article 18

1. Necessary regulatory, administrative, technical and organizational measures shall be taken at national and Community level to ensure the physical and logical protection of confidential data and to ensure that no unlawful disclosure and non-statistical use shall occur when Community statistics are disseminated. 2. Officials and other servants of the national authorities or of the Community authority having access to data subject to Community legislation which imposes statistical confidentiality shall be subject to compliance with such confidentiality, even after the cessation of their functions.
