Article 24

Council Regulation (EC) No 1257/1999 of 17 May 1999 on support for rural development from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF) and amending and repealing certain Regulations · European Union

1. Support in respect of an agri-environmental commitment shall be granted annually and be calculated on the basis of: income foregone, additional costs resulting from the commitment given, and the need to provide an incentive. The cost of any non-remunerative capital works necessary for the fulfilment of the commitments may also be taken into account in calculating the level of annual support. 2. Maximum amounts per year eligible for Community support are laid down in the Annex. These amounts shall be based on that area of the holding to which agri-environmental commitments apply.
