Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules · European Union

The Commission may establish guidelines for official controls in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 62 (2). The guidelines may, in particular, contain recommendations concerning official controls on: the implementation of HACCP principles; management systems that feed or food business operators operate with a view to meeting the requirements of feed or food law; the microbiological, physical and chemical safety of feed and food.
