| 1.1. | This Annex describes the methods of determining emissions of gaseous components, particulates and smoke from the engines to be tested. Three test cycles are described that shall be applied according to the provisions of Annex I, Section 6.2: — the ESC which consists of a steady state 13-mode cycle, — the ELR which consists of transient load steps at different speeds, which are integral parts of one test procedure, and are run concurrently, — the ETC which consists of a second-by-second sequence of transient modes.
