Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on food additives (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

This Regulation shall not apply to the following substances unless they are used as food additives: processing aids; substances used for the protection of plants and plant products in accordance with Community rules relating to plant health; substances added to foods as nutrients; substances used for the treatment of water for human consumption falling within the scope of Council Directive 98/83/EC of 3 November 1998 on the quality of water intended for human consumption OJ L 330, 5.12.1998, p. 32. ; flavourings falling within the scope of Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 [on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties for use in and on foods].
