REGULATION (EU) 2023/1542 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 12 July 2023 concerning batteries and waste batteries, amending Directive 2008/98/EC and Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repealing Directive 2006/66/EC (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

Where batteries are collected while still incorporated in a waste appliance, a waste light means of transport or an end-of-life vehicle, they shall be removed from the waste appliance, waste light means of transport or end-of-life vehicle in accordance with, where applicable, the requirements laid down in Directives 2000/53/EC or 2012/19/EU.
