COMMISSION NOTICE Guidelines for economic operators and market surveillance authorities on the practical implementation of Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products · European Union

The name and contact details of the economic operator referred to in Article 4 have to be present when the product is declared for free circulation at customs (Article 26(1)(d) of the Regulation). Therefore, in case the product is aimed for release for free circulation in the EU and no further processing on the product is foreseen after its shipment (19), economic operators outside the EU offering products for sale should make sure that they are indicated in the way described above, adding them (or having them added) prior to shipping if necessary.
