Section 6A

The Secretary of State may by regulations made by statutory instrument— amend these Regulations— by adding an exception to the prohibition in regulation 6(1), or by omitting or varying an exception to that prohibition, and make consequential, supplementary, incidental, transitional, transitory or saving provision, including provision amending these Regulations. Regulations under paragraph (1) may make different provision for different purposes. Before making regulations under paragraph (1), the Secretary of State must consult— the Information Commissioner, and such other persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate. A statutory instrument containing regulations under paragraph (1) may not be made unless a draft of the instrument has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament.
