Section 16

In this Part— “the 1990 Act” means the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 ; “the 2004 Act” means the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 ; “the 2008 Act” means the Planning Act 2008 ; “the 2024 Act” means the Infrastructure (Wales) Act 2024; “infrastructure consent” means the consent required by section 19 of the 2024 Act; “local planning authority” has the same meaning as in 1990 Act; “mineral planning authority” has the same meaning as in section 1 of the 1990 Act ; “planning permission” has the meaning given in section 336 of the 1990 Act . In this Part, “the planning Acts” means— the 1990 Act; the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 ; the Planning (Hazardous Substances) Act 1990 ; the Planning (Consequential Provisions) Act 1990 ; the 2004 Act; ... the 2008 Act ; ... the Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023 ; and the 2024 Act. In this Part, “planning authority” means— a local planning authority; a local planning authority or minerals and waste planning authority for the purposes of Part 2 of the 2004 Act; a person appointed under paragraph 1 of Schedule 6 to the 1990 Act ; a government department in respect of its functions under the planning Acts; or an appropriate authority in respect of its functions under the planning Acts.
